Looking back on February in the Art Studio

Collaboration, time, space, body.

These were the elements of February’s projects in the studio. 

No one worked alone – each visitor’s actions and decisions affected the whole of each of the projects.  They had to negotiate with each other and the space and decide what to do, where to wrap the yarn, how to attach their paper, where to leave their mark.  

Project #1 – Yarn Bench

Visitors were invited to help us wrap our Art Studio bench in yarn:

 Project #2 – BIG paper sculpture

Visitors were given a piece of paper that was equal in length to their height. They could transform the paper however they wanted with scissors and add it to the paper sculpture whereever and however they wanted to:

Project #3 – Draw with LONG crayons

Visitors were invited to see what it is like to draw different shapes with different length crayons:
